Help us to raise money for a new bronze statue to commemorate Brant County’s fallen from WWI.
We are proud of Brantford Memorial Park and the seven bronze statues that honour our fallen from WWII. The Brant County War Memorial raised over $400,000 to add the statues to the site in 1992.
Our most recent project is the commission of a new bronze statue depicting a battle-weary WWI soldier in era authentic uniform and equipment. We have already raised $20,000 of the approximately $100,000 cost. Winnipeg artist Helen Granger Young was the artist and sculptor for the seven WWII bronze figures that distinguish the current memorial. She has been chosen to create the new bronze and is nearly done sculpting the miniature that will be used as a guide for the full scale statue.
You’re financial support is critical to completing the project. We will be adding a PayPal mechanism to the site in the next week to simplify the donation process. We can also accept donations by cheque or directly. Please contact us with your inquiries and we’ll respond with the information you need to help us pay tribute to the brave soldiers from Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations who gave their lives in WWI.
You can also support us by signing up for our newsletter. We would like to build a strong community of supporters and contributors. We’ll be adding veteran interviews, historical documents and other unique material. Sign-up now.
